In principle, Learning Agreements can be made for all courses that are taught by members of the Chair of Statistics and Econometrics. Three key aspects are decisive for an approval: the workload of the course at a foreign university, the level at which the course is taught, and the degree to which the content of the foreign course conforms to the material covered by our courses.
You can contact Annabell Schneider if you want to make a Learning Agreement for one of our courses or if you have general questions about the procedure.
Procedure
Before your stay abroad
If your foreign partner university offers a course that you consider suitable for recognition based on the criteria mentioned above, you can submit it to us for approval.
Please send an email with the following information to Annabell Schneider :
- Name of the degree program you are enrolled in at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg
- Name of the course at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg that you would like to have recognized, including the examination number
- Full name of the foreign university at which you would like to take a course for recognition
- Detailed description of the content of the foreign course, including any literature used (with the source of your information)
- Number of semester hours per week and, if possible, the ECTS credits of the foreign course
- Examination requirements (type and scope)
- Statistical software used, e.g. R, MATLAB, SAS. If no software is used, please state this as well.
Once all of this information has been provided in full, a decision can be made regarding the conclusion of a Learning Agreement.
If your application is approved, please complete the Learning Agreement form provided by the International Relations Office and submit it to the contact person mentioned above. Their signature confirms the recognition by the chair. Please ensure that you have signed the form yourself and enter the specific year in the field “Akad. Auslandsjahr WiSe/SoSe” (for example, “WiSe 2026/27”).
After your stay abroad
After returning from your stay abroad, please contact the program coordinator of your degree program (in the case of the BA Business Studies program, the coordinator of your specialization) and submit the Learning Agreement, a transcript/certificate of your examination results, and the form for the recognition of academic achievements completed abroad provided by the International Relations Office.
The program coordinator will then convert the credits and grades you obtained abroad into the corresponding grades for your degree program.
