Vacant PhD position (starting January 2026)
The Chair of Statistics and Econometrics, School of Business, Economics and Society invites applications for Research Associate (m/f/d) for a project on macroeconomic nowcasting. We seek a candidate interested in developing a PhD project on macroeconomic nowcasting—for instance, at the interface of traditional nowcasting/forecasting methods and machine learning. A joint research project with the Nuremberg Institute for Market Decisions (NIM, https://www.nim.org/en/) will form part of the dissertation work.
