A research article by Prof. Dr. Jonas Dovern and Lena Müller from the Chair of Statistics and Econometrics was published by the Journal of Monetary Economics. Using new survey data on quantitative growth expectations of firms in Germany, the article shows that firms resort to local information when forming expectations about aggregate growth. This mechanism explains a substantial share of heterogeneity of growth expectations. The article is available via the following link: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jmoneco.2023.03.005.
