New Publication: Effectiveness of the German tax cut on fuel prices
A summary of the study concerning the effectiveness of the German tax cut on fuel prices („Tankrabatt“), which was conducted by our chair, has been published on the online portal Ökonomenstimme. In the analysis, we compare German prices for petrol and diesel with those in a synthetic control group, which has been constructed based on price developments in the German neighboring countries. For both fuel types, we find that the Tankrabatt has been passed on completely but with delay. You can find more details here.
